Level scheme of hydrogen
Hydrogen is a good candidate for precice comparison of theoretical and experimental results: For one electron bound to one proton it is possible to calculate the levels' structure and position to great accuracy.
The fluorescence at Lyman-alpha
With our Lyman-alpha source the 1S-2P transition in hydrogen was measured for the first time with near natural linewidth [1].
